September 27, 2012 - This morning, at the Northwest Regional Conference, Lakehead University Researchers released their report Mining in Northwestern Ontario: Opportunities and Challenges Study Report. This commissioned economic impact analysis of the potential mining activity throughout Northwestern Ontario was supported by the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce through our Economic Development Fund.

 

This study is a solid foundation document to support the mining readiness efforts by the City and organizations like ours. There is significant benefits to senior government and communities through mine development and operations, and we need to advocate effectively to move these projects along.
